The OFDT team

The OFDT's missions are carried out by a multi-disciplinary team, made up of specialists and/or researchers (epidemiologists, statisticians, doctors, toxicologists, sociologists, political scientists, economists, etc.) and administrative and technical staff (accountant, computer graphics specialist, webmaster, etc.). This team has been headed by Guillaume Airagnes since 1 September 2023.

Composition

The OFDT is structured into two scientific units (DATA and FOCUS), a general secretariat and an accounting agency.

  • The DATA unit contributes to studies aimed at producing regular monitoring data to describe the phenomenon of drugs and addictive behaviours. In particular, the DATA unit is responsible for surveys on drug use in the general population, health consequences, treatment in the health care system, and issues relating to monitoring and international comparisons. The DATA unit is responsible for annual monitoring of the 5 key indicators of the European Union Drugs Agency, EUDA

  • The FOCUS unit produces studies to analyse and explain the phenomenon of drugs and addictive behaviour. The FOCUS unit contributes to work that informs the actions of the members of the public interest group, in particular the French Interministerial Mission for Combating Drugs and Addictive Behaviours  (MILDECA) and European Union Drugs Agency. The FOCUS unit is responsible in particular for studies into supply and markets, specific populations, territorial analysis, and measuring the impact of public responses.
  • The general secretariat provides transversal support for all the OFDT’s activities, such as administrative, budgetary and logistical management, monitoring of partnership agreements with the relevant research officers; internal and/or external communication, press relations, promotion of OFDT's work in conjunction with the scientific units; publications, documentation and dissemination (website); administrative relations with the European Union Drugs Agency and coordination of the French focal point's contributions to the European report on drugs The general secretariat manages the OFDT's human resources and, within the framework of the agreement with the accounting team, contributes to its budgetary programming.
  • The accounting agency, in accordance with the agreement between the authorising officer and the accounting officer relating to financial management and the organisation of the OFDT invoicing service, is responsible for the OFDT’s financial, budgetary, and accounting management.
