In order to reflect the diversity of tools available to monitor the use of licit and illicit substances, the health or criminal consequences of such use, and the public responses implemented, the OFDT has been updating a directory of statistical data sources since 1994.
This issue provides a European overview of tobacco, alcohol, cannabis and other drug use among 16-year-olds, as well as an overview of trends over the past decade, both in France and across all participating countries. The results showed that France is now below the European average for all use indicators, recording one of the sharpest declines in drug use on the continent since 2015.

In 2023, the ESCAPAD survey conducted by the OFDT interviewed 2 869 seventeen-year-olds in Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion, New Caledonia and French Polynesia. The results confirmed that levels of psychoactive substance use were often lower than those observed in mainland France, while also highlighting marked territorial disparities.
The 2023 edition of the Survey on Representations, Opinions and Perceptions regarding Psychoactive Drugs (EROPP), which has been carried out by the OFDT since 1999, highlights changes in French views on drugs. It should be noted more particularly that perceived danger is now being redefined in terms of habits of use, and no longer solely on the basis of the legal status of the substance.

As part of this study, 124 advertisements were collected on the Internet over the period 2014-2024 and analysed against 31 content analytical criteria. The analysis showed that advertisements have sometimes exploited the subjective nature of the prohibited subjects, including after 2020.
Gambling is described by lawmakers as a "non-ordinary" market. The main preventive measures with regard to gambling and betting are prohibition of sales and advertising aimed at minors, as well as restrictions in these areas concerning problem gamblers.
