The French Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (OFDT)

The French Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (OFDT) is the public body in France responsible for collecting, analysing, and summarising data on drugs, both licit (alcohol and tobacco) and illicit, as well as data on gambling. 

Created in 1993, the OFDT is a public interest group for an indefinite period made up of ten ministries*, the French National Federation of Regional Health Observatories (FNORS) and the Interministerial Mission for Combating Drugs and Addictive Behaviours (MILDECA)representing the State.

The OFDT is recognised as a public operator under the administrative supervision of MILDECA, programme 129 - Direction de l’action gouvernementale (Department of Government Action).
