Cannabis, essential data and knowledge

The aim of this document is to illustrate the different aspects of the situation of cannabis in France (consumption, market, risks and consequences, public policy, etc.).

Cannabis is the most widely available and most used illicit drug in Europe. However, in terms of consumption, France is among the top list countries, at least among young people.

Over the past few years, the public authorities have strengthened their efforts to highlight the dangers of this illicit drug. New communication campaigns have been launched via television and other media.
