Antoine Devémy

A chemical engineer by training, Antoine Devémy has, since 2019, been in charge of two of the eleven establishments within the Laboratories Joint Service (Customs and General Directorate for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control), including the Paris facility, which carries out around 12 000 analyses of narcotic substances per year and with which the OFDT collaborates regularly through the SINTES scheme. Previously, Antoine Devémy headed an investigation unit within the Gendarmerie specialising in drug trafficking, and subsequently a multidisciplinary forensic department specialising in the detection of microtraces at the Forensic Sciences Institute of the French Gendarmerie (IRCGN).

As director of the Public Interest Group (GIP), Antoine Devémy bears moral responsibility for it. He has authority over all OFDT staff and is responsible for developing the multi-year work programme in conjunction with the deputy director and the entire team, with the advice from the Scientific Committee. He is head of the national focal point for the European Information Network on Drugs and Drug Addiction (REITOX) of the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA).
